Man crashes car on I-80 in Warren County, flees the scene, later arrested

ALLAMUCHY TOWNSHIP, NJ (Warren County) – A Pennsylvania man who New Jersey state police said crashed his car on Interstate 80 in Warren County and fled the scene Wednesday was later arrested.

The single-vehicle crash happened on Interstate 80 westbound at milepost 22.6 in Allamuchy Township, according to New Jersey State Police Trooper Brandi Slota.

The driver, who was later identified Matthew Farrance, 32, of East Stroudsburg, exited the vehicle and left the scene of the crash, Slota said.

A short time later, troopers located Farrance running in the area of Johnsonburg Road and he was then arrested, Slota said.

Farrance was charged with being a fugitive of justice, possession of CDS, tampering with evidence, resisting arrest by flight, hindering, and obstruction. He was then lodged in the Warren county jail.
