Man dies after falling off dock into Lake Hopatcong, police say

ROXBURY TOWNHSIP, NJ (Morris County) – An 82-year-old Roxbury Township man died Thursday evening after he fell off a dock into Lake Hopatcong, according to Roxbury Township Police spokesperson Jen Dillard.

At 5:53 p.m., police received a call to respond to the area of King Road for a man in the water. A preliminary police investigation revealed that the man fell off a dock and into the water, Dillard said.

The incident remains under investigation, Dillard said.

The man’s name has not been released until officials notify next of kin.

The Mount Arlington Police Department and New Jersey State Police Marine Service Bureau also responded immediately to the scene.
