Man dies at hospital after motorcycle crash in Warren County

LOPATCONG TOWNSHIP, NJ (Warren County) – A motorcyclist succumbed to his injuries at the hospital after he crashed in Lopatcong Township Sunday evening, police said Wednesday.

The crash happened on Sept. 3, at around 6:23 p.m., in the area of Belvidere Road (County Route 646) between North Third Street and North Second Street, police said.

Responding units found the motorcyclist in the front yard of a residence with a passing New Jersey State Police trooper providing emergency medical assistance, police said.

The victim was transported to St. Luke’s Warren Campus where he succumbed to his injuries, police said.

The accident investigation concluded that the victim lost control of the motorcycle while traveling South on Belvidere Rd., between North Third Street and North Second Street, when he ran off the roadway to the right and was subsequently thrown from the motorcycle, police said.

“At this time, the name of the victim is not being released,” police said.

Belvidere Road was closed for approximately 2 hours.

The Phillipsburg Police, NJSP Washington Barracks, Lopatcong Fire Department, Phillipsburg EMS, and the Warren County Road Department assisted at the scene.
