Man facing assault and firearms charges after incident at Morris County hotel

HANOVER TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – A Union County man is facing a slew of charges after he allegedly threatened another man at a Hanover Township hotel.

On March 11, several officers responded to the Red Carpet Inn for a report of a man threatening another man with a handgun, police said.

Upon arrival, a perimeter was setup and a description and possible room number of the alleged suspect was provided to all officers, police said.

The suspect was identified as Aidan Harrington, 19, of Summit and was then arrested without incident inside his hotel room. A BB gun was also located in his room, police said.

Harrington was charged with possession of a firearm with a purpose to use unlawfully, knowingly possess a handgun without a permit, two counts of threatening to commit aggravated assault and knowingly possess a defaced firearm. He was then lodged in the Morris County Jail pending a court appearance.
