MOUNT OLIVE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – A Morris County woman is facing a slew of charges including driving while intoxicated with a minor in the vehicle following a traffic stop in Mount Olive Township.
On July 20, at 6:17 p.m., a township officer observed a Toyota pickup truck make an unsafe lane changes on Bartley Road in Flanders, police said.
The officer stopped the vehicle and came in contact with the driver, who was identified as Neil H. Perry, 33, of Succasunna and a minor child. The officer immediately detected the odor of alcoholic beverages, and he allegedly showed obvious signs of impairment, police said.
Perry was asked to exit the vehicle to perform standardized field sobriety tests and upon completion of the investigation he was arrested and transported to police headquarters where he submitted to chemical breath testing, police said.
The minor child was released to a sober adult, police said.
Perry was charged with DWI, DWI with a minor in the vehicle, consumption of alcoholic beverage by a driver, reckless driving, open container in a motor vehicle, and unsafe lane change. He was released to a sober driver pending a court appearance, police said.
