
Man facing possession of an imitation firearm, drug charges in Mount Olive Township
MOUNT OLIVE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – A Passaic County man is facing several charges after police say he brandished an imitation firearm during an argument Tuesday night in Mount Olive Township
On July 19, at 9:54 p.m., police responded to the Overlook Apartment Complex for the report of a disturbance where a man allegedly brandished a firearm during an argument. Upon arrival, the officer came in contact with a female who confirmed that a man, who was identified as Santiago Montoya, 23, of Little Falls, brandished a firearm during an argument, police said.
The officer located Montoya in the parking lot of the apartment complex and during the course of the investigation, the officer recovered the imitation firearm with the orange safety tip removed, police said.
The officer also recovered liquid and pill anabolic steroids, hypodermic syringes, and Adderall. He was arrest and was transported to police headquarters, police said.
Montoya was charged with two counts of possession of schedule I-IV controlled dangerous substance, possession of an imitation firearm, prohibited weapon, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of syringes. He was released pending a court appearance, police said.
