HACKETTSTOWN, NJ (Warren County) – A Hackettstown man is facing charges including DWI after he was allegedly found slumped behind the steering wheel Friday night in Hackettstown.
On Feb. 5, at around 11:23 p.m., police responded to the area of Route 46 for a report of an erratic motor vehicle, police said.
A witness observed the vehicle hit a snowbank and believed the driver was intoxicated. An officer then located a vehicle matching the description stopped on Route 46 at Route 182 with the driver slumped behind the steering wheel, police said.
The officer woke the driver and then had to put the vehicle in park. While the officer was speaking to the driver, who was identified 34-year-old Jorge Chacon-Ruiz, the officer detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from inside the vehicle, police said.
