Man found with handgun, high-capacity magazine in Mount Olive Township

MOUNT OLIVE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – A Louisiana man is facing charges after he was allegedly in possession of a handgun and a high-capacity ammunition magazine.

On Dec. 14, at 2:39 p.m., police responded to the Walmart in Flanders for a report of a customer possibly in possession of a handgun, police said.

An officer located a man matching the description and observed the butt-end of a handgun in his pocket, police said.

The man was identified as Belvin Dale Lee, 30, of Opelousas and he was arrested without incident. He was then transported to police headquarters, police said.

Lee was charged with unlawful possession of a handgun and possession of high-capacity ammunition magazine. He was released pending a court appearance.
