Man gets probation for stealing used car batteries from Walmart

NEWTON, NJ (Sussex County) – A Camden County man was sentenced to probation after pleading guilty to theft, the prosecutor’s office said in a news release Wednesday.

Leonard H. Clary, 24, of Clementon was sentenced by the Honorable Thomas J. Critchley, Jr., J.S.C. at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on Nov. 1.

Clary admitted to stealing used car batteries from the Walmart in Hampton Township.

Clary was sentenced to two years probation, must also perform 40 hours of community service, pay mandatory fines and fees.

Clary pled guilty on Sept. 16 to third-degree theft.
