Man pleads guilty to credit card theft in Sussex County

NEWTON, NJ (Sussex County) – A Sussex County man pleads guilty to credit card theft, according to Acting Sussex County Prosecutor Carolyn A. Murray.

Brown, age 63, of Hamburg Borough pled guilty to fourth-degree credit card theft on Dec. 13 before the Honorable Michael C. Gaus, J.S.C. at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton, Murray said.

Brown admitted to knowingly taking a credit card and cash from a lost wallet he had found on the ground of Franklin Shoprite, Murray said.

He is scheduled to be sentenced on March 1.

Brown was represented by Matthew W. Young, Esq. and the State was represented by Special Deputy Attorney General and Acting Assistant Prosecutor Brent M. Rafuse.
