Man pleads guilty to heroin possession in Sussex County

NEWTON, NJ (Sussex County) – A Bergen County man has entered a guilty plea to possession of heroin, according to Sussex County Prosecutor Francis Koch.

Michael J. Soriano, 27, of Hillsdale pled guilty to an accusation of third-degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance before the Honorable Louis S. Sceusi, J.S.C. at the Sussex County Virtual Courtroom in Newton on July 29, Koch said.

Soriano admitted he was in possession of several folds of heroin when found by Sparta Police, who were responding to a report of a person possibly under the influence at Anderson Farms. Koch said.

Soriano is scheduled to be sentenced on September 2 before the Honorable Michael C. Gaus, J.S.C., Koch said.

Soriano was represented by Thomas Militano, Esq., and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Brent M. Rafuse.
