Man pleads guilty to stealing more than $2K from Sussex County Applebee’s

NEWTON, NJ (Sussex County) – A Sussex County man has entered a guilty plea to theft, according to Acting Sussex County Prosecutor Annmarie Taggart.

Addis Chapman, 27, of Newton pled guilty to third-degree theft on October 24 before the Honorable Michael C. Gaus, J.S.C. at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton, Taggart said.

In pleading guilty, Chapman admitted to taking payments of cash from Applebee’s Neighborhood Bar and Grill on multiple occasions, totaling an amount of $2,383.92, with intention to keep the money for his own use, Taggart said.

Sentencing is scheduled for December 12, Taggart said.

Addis Chapman was represented by Matthew Young, Esq., and the State was represented by Special Deputy Attorney General and Acting Assistant Prosecutor Brent M. Rafuse.
