Man sentenced for eluding state police in Sussex County

NEWTON, NJ (Sussex County) – A Pennsylvania man has been sentenced for eluding state police, according to Acting Sussex County Prosecutor Annmarie Taggart.

Serge Korporanribota, 32, of Allentown was sentenced on May 12 before the Honorable Michael C. Gaus, J.S.C. at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton, Taggart said.

Korporanribota was sentenced to 90 days jail time, 3 years probation, 6 month drivers license suspension, and pay fines and fees, Taggart said.

He pled guilty on March 29 to third-degree eluding. In pleading guilty, he admitted to knowingly fleeing from a law enforcement officer, at a high rate of speed on a motorcycle, after being told to bring vehicle to a stop by a New Jersey State Police, Taggart said.

Korporanribota was represented by Louis Deangelis III, Esq., and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Jonathan E. McMeen.
