Man sentenced for possession of heroin with intent to distribute in Sussex County

NEWTON, NJ (Sussex County) – A Passaic County man was sentenced for possession of heroin with intent to distribute, according to Acting Sussex County Prosecutor Annmarie Taggart.

Born Allah, 21, of Paterson was sentenced on Feb. 1 before the Honorable Michael C. Gaus, J.S.C. at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton, Taggart said.

Allah was sentenced to probation for a period of two years, time served jail credit of 110 days. In addition to the standard conditions of probation, he must submit a DNA sample and pay fines and fees totaling $1,205, Taggart said.

Allah pled guilty on Nov. 16, 2022 to third-degree possession with intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance. He admitted that in Hamburg Borough on Sept. 29, 2020, he knowingly possessed and intended to distribute less than half ounce of heroin, Taggart said.

Allah was represented by Daniel Palazzo Esq., and the State was represented by Special Deputy Attorney General and Acting Assistant Prosecutor Sally Anne Monkemeier.
