Man struck, killed by NJ Transit train in Morris County

MADISON BOROUGH, NJ (Morris County) – A man was struck and killed by a NJ Transit train in Madison Borough Tuesday afternoon.

At around 3:33 p.m., Morris & Essex Line train 6635, which departed Penn Station New York at 2:32 p.m. and was scheduled to arrive in Dover at 4:05 p.m. struck and fatally injured an adult male, whose identity was not released, just west of Madison station, according to NJ Transit.

There were no injuries to the 60 customers or the crew on board, authorities said.

Currently, Morris & Essex Line rail service is subject to up to 30-minute delays in both directions, authorities said.

New Jersey Transit Police are on scene and leading the investigation.
