Man struck, killed by NJ Transit train in Morris County

MORRISTOWN, NJ (Morris County) – A man was struck and killed by an NJ Transit train in Morristown Thursday night.

At around 8:45 p.m., Morris & Essex Line train 674, which departed from Dover at 8:26 p.m. and was scheduled to arrive in Hoboken at 9:46 p.m., struck and fatally injured an adult male pedestrian, whose identity was not released, near the Morristown Station in Morristown, according to NJ Transit.

There were no injuries reported to the two customers and crew members on board, authorities said.

Rail service was temporarily suspended between Madison and Dover but has resumed.

New Jersey Transit Police are leading the investigation.
