Man who sexually assaulted his niece in Warren County sentenced to 5 years in prison

BELVIDERE, NJ (Warren County) –  A Hunterdon County man was sentenced Thursday to five years in state prison after he sexually assaulted his niece, according to the Warren County Prosecutor’s Office

On June 30, Anthony O. Firetto, 54, of Bloomsbury Borough was sentenced to five years in New Jersey State Prison, and to the No Early Release Act, prosecutor’s office said.

Firetto previously pled guilty to second-degree sexual assault. The sexual acts that constituted sexual assault occurred in 2007 through 2008, when the victim was between the ages of 13 and 14-years-old. The victim was his niece, prosecutor’s office said.

Firetto must serve a minimum of 51 months of the five year term, prior to being eligible for parole. In addition, he was ordered to pay mandatory fines and penalties and to have no contact with the victim, prosecutor’s office said.

Firetto remains in the Warren County Jail pending his transfer to the Department of Corrections, prosecutor’s office said.

The Warren County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victim’s Unit and the Pohatcong Township Police Department assisted in the investigation.
