Man with $7K warrant accused of shoplifting at Mansfield Twp. Walmart

MANSFIELD TOWNSHIP, NJ (Warren County) – Mansfield Township police arrested a man last month who was suspected of shoplifting $421.98 worth of merchandise from a Walmart, authorities said.

On January 28, at 10:29 a.m., officers responded to the Walmart located on Route 57 for a report of a shoplifting in progress. The man had then left the store in a vehicle which was stopped by a Hackettstown police officer, police said.

The 32-year-old Newark man was then turned over to Mansfield Township police officers and was charged with fourth-degree shoplifting. He was also wanted out of Newark on a $7,000.00 warrant, police said.

He was lodged in the Warren County Jail pending a court appearance, police said.
