UPDATE: Missing Mansfield Township man has been located

UPDATE: Missing Mansfield Township man has been located safe, according to police.

MANSFIELD TOWNSHIP, NJ (Warren County) – Authorities are seeking the public’s help locating a 31-year-old autistic man from Mansfield Township who was reported missing.

According to Mansfield Township Police, Robert Bechaud was last heard from by his family on Thursday June 9, at around 7:30 p.m., via a text message. Since that date, he has turned off his phone and has made no attempts to make contact with anyone.

Bechaud recently quit his job and according to his parents, has very limited funds. According to his former employer, he advised that he was leaving on a flight as he was accepted into a missionary trip however his parents advised they did not believe that he had the necessary documents needed to fly, police said.

Bechaud has been diagnosed with high functioning autism and was last known to be operating a 2012 grey 4-door Honda Accord with New Jersey registration of X34ERP.

Bechaud is described as a white male, slim build, trimmed goatee and beard, short crew style hair cut and has tattoos on his left forearm, barb wire around his right bicep and a heart over his heart.
