MANSFIELD TOWNSHIP, NJ (Warren County) – A Maryland man is facing several charges after drugs and a gun were allegedly found in his car Saturday evening.
Claudio D. Bonilla Funes, 19, of Hyattsville was charged with second-degree unlawful possession of a handgun, second-degree committing a drug offense while in possession of a handgun, third-degree possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, third-degree possession of MDMA, third-degree possession of ecstasy, third-degree possession of amphetamine, third-degree possession of stolen property, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of under 50g of THC, possession of controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle and idling.
Officers responded at 6:01 p.m. to a report of a suspicious person and vehicle complaint in the Alexandria Apartment Complex. The caller reported a man was sleeping in a running vehicle for the past two hours, police said.
Officers located Bonilla Funes and detected a strong odor of raw marijuana coming from inside the vehicle, police said.
Through an investigation and search of the vehicle, officers recovered a stolen Rohm .22 revolver, thirty-five amphetamine tablets, 127 grams of marijuana, one MDMA tablet, one ecstasy tablet, three large ziploc bags of THC infused fruity pebbles, miscellaneous drug paraphernalia including a scale and packaging materials and $421.00 in US currency, police said.
He was lodged in the Warren County Correctional Center pending a Court appearance.
