Mega Millions jackpot soars to $900 million, eighth largest in game’s history
The Mega Millions® jackpot is once again climbing toward the $1 billion mark after no ticket matched all six numbers drawn Friday night. The winning numbers were 16, 21, 23, 48, and 70, with a gold Mega Ball of 5.
The estimated jackpot for the next drawing on Tuesday, Nov. 11, now stands at $900 million, or $415.3 million in cash. It marks the eighth-largest jackpot since the game began in 2002 and only the third time the prize has reached this level since Florida’s record-setting $1.602 billion win on Aug. 8, 2023.
New Jersey players will remember the $1.128 billion Mega Millions prize won in the Garden State on March 26, 2024. California also saw a $1.269 billion jackpot on Dec. 27, 2024. The current jackpot has been building since it was last claimed in Virginia on June 27.
In the Nov. 7 drawing, more than 688,000 winning tickets were sold nationwide across all prize tiers, totaling over $13.8 million in winnings. Sixteen tickets matched four white balls and the Mega Ball to claim third-tier prizes ranging from $20,000 to $100,000. Winners hailed from several states, including Florida, Connecticut, Illinois, North Carolina, New York, Pennsylvania, and Georgia.
Since the jackpot run began, nearly 12.4 million winning tickets have been sold, with players collecting almost $288 million in prizes. That includes 17 second-tier prizes of $1 million or more, enhanced by multipliers ranging from 2X to 5X.
Before the current jackpot climb, Mega Millions saw major wins this year in Arizona, Illinois, Ohio, and Virginia — ranging from $112 million to $349 million.
The next drawing will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 11, at 11 p.m. ET. Players can check results and prize breakdowns at www.megamillions.com.
