Mega Millions ticket worth $10K sold in Somerset County

One New York Ticket Wins $476,000,000 Jackpot

NEW JERSEY – One New York ticket matched all five of the five white balls and the Gold Mega Ball drawn winning the $476 Million Mega Millions jackpot. The estimated cash value was $253.1 million.

There were 3 third-tier prizewinning tickets sold for the Friday, April 14, drawing that matched four of the five white balls and the Gold Mega Ball drawn winning the $10,000 prize. Two of those tickets were purchased with the Megaplier option, multiplying the prize to $20,000. Those tickets were purchased at the following locations:

$20,000 Tickets:

  • Bergen County: Leprechaun News, 6 Park Ave., Rutherford.
  • Hudson County: Goldy’s, 757 Broadway, Bayonne.

$10,000 Ticket:

  • Somerset County: Quick Stop Food Stores, 378 South Branch Rd., Hillsborough Township.

The winning numbers for the Friday, April 14,drawing were: 23, 27, 41, 48, and 51. The Gold Mega Ball was 22, and the Megaplier Multiplier was 02.

In addition to the third-tier prizes won, 20 players matched four of the five white balls drawn making each ticket worth $500. 2 of those tickets were purchased with the Megaplier option, multiplying the prizes to $1,000. Moreover, 49,015 other New Jersey players took home $190,962 in prizes ranging from $2 to $400.

The jackpot resets to $20 million for the next drawing to be held on Tuesday, April 18, at 11:00 p.m. All New Jersey Lottery Mega Millions tickets must be purchased before 10:45 p.m. to participate in the drawing. Mega Millions tickets cost just two dollars; by adding the Megaplier option for an extra dollar per play, players can increase their non-jackpot winnings up to five times. Mega Millions tickets are sold in 46 participating jurisdictions. Drawings are held on Tuesdays and Fridays.
