Morris County HS student hit by vehicle still hospitalized; GoFundMe started for medical expenses

ROCKAWAY BOROUGH, NJ (Morris County) – A GoFundMe drive had raised more than $23,000 of the $50,000 goal Wednesday morning for a Morris Hills High School freshman injured last week after being struck by a vehicle.

Kristyn Dietrich created the GoFundMe page and said, Emmanuel Ramnarain was struck by a car on Feb. 22 on Route 46 in Rockaway.

Ramnarain is currently in critical condition at Morristown Medical Center. He sustained traumatic brain injury and doctors are closely monitoring the swelling in his brain, Dietrich said.

“He will have a long and difficult recovery ahead,” Dietrich said.

“Any funds raised will go directly to Emmanuel’s mother, Sherida Balman, who is the beneficiary of this account to help alleviate the huge medical expenses that will be the result of Emmanuel’s catastrophic accident. The funds will help to ease some of the enormous burden this family faces,” Dietrich said in the post.
