Morris County man charged after driving vehicle with stolen license plate

DENVILLE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) –  A Morris County man faces charges after driving a vehicle with a stolen license plate in Denville Township, police said.

On March 2, at around 2:26 p.m., an officer stopped a vehicle on Route 53 after observing the vehicle with multiple equipment violations and displaying a stolen license plate, police said.

After a brief investigation, the driver, who was identified as Shefki Cocka, 39, Kinnelon Borough, was arrested and charged with receiving stolen property, fictitious plates, improper/unclear plates, failure to inspect, obstruction of view, and failure to possess registration, police said.

Cocka was released pending a court appearance and was then turned over to the Pequannock Police Department regarding an investigation of an incident that occurred in their jurisdiction, police said.
