Morris County man charged with possession of child pornography

LYNDHURST TOWNSHIP, NJ (Bergen County) – A 43-year-old Morris Plains man is accused of possessing child pornography, according to Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella.

An investigation began in January 2022 when the Lyndhurst Police Department contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit regarding the alleged sexual assault of a child. Detectives determined that Bhatt was in possession of child pornography, Musella said.

As a result of the ongoing investigation, on Thursday, Jan. 5, Bhatt, an accountant who is married, was charged with third-degree possession of child pornography. He was served with the charge while in custody at the Morris County Correctional Facility. He remains there pending his first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court, Musella said.

The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Lyndhurst Police Department.
