Morris County man found parked on a lawn in Mount Olive Twp. is charged with DWI

MOUNT OLIVE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) –  A 35-year-old Randolph Township man was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated after police found his car parked on a Crenshaw Drive lawn on Tuesday evening, according to police.

On Dec. 22, at 5:34 p.m., police responded to Crenshaw Drive for a vehicle running in the front yard of a residence with the turn signal activated. The officer located a vehicle matching the description parked horizontally to the driveway in the snow, police said.

The officer made contact with the driver, identified as David Van Lian Thawng, who allegedly showed immediate signs of impairment due to alcohol, police said.

Thawng performed standardized field sobriety tests and upon completion of the investigation, he was arrested and transported to police headquarters where he submitted to chemical breath testing, police said.

Thawng was charged with DWI and reckless driving. He was released to a sober driver pending a court appearance.
