Morris County man sentenced on drug charges

NEWTON, NJ (Sussex County) – A Morris County man was sentenced to probation after pleading guilty to drug charges, according to Sussex County Prosecutor Francis Koch.

Timothy Garcia, 23, of Dover was sentenced before the Honorable Louis S. Sceusi, J.S.C., at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on Jan. 31, Koch said.

Garcia was sentenced to three years of non-custodial probation concurrent with his sentence in Morris County.  He received jail credit of 84 days and was ordered to submit a DNA sample and pay fines and fees totaling $2,205.00, Koch said.

Garcia pled guilty on Dec. 19, 2019, to two counts of third-degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance, Koch said.

Garcia was in possession of oxycodone on June 27, 2019, in Hopatcong and cocaine on June 28, 2019, in Newton, Koch said.
