Morris County Prosecutor swears in new assistant prosecutor

MORRISTOWN, NJ (Morris County) – Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll and First Assistant Prosecutor Maggie Calderwood announce the hiring of Vanessa Craveiro as Assistant Prosecutor for the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office.

Assistant Prosecutor Craveiro was officially sworn in at the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office on November 1 and will be assigned to the General Investigations Unit.

Assistant Prosecutor Craveiro began her legal career as a law clerk in 2013 for Judge Frederic R. McDaniel at the Union County Superior Court Criminal Division. She served as an assistant prosecutor at the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office from 2014 until 2016, and at the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office from 2016 until 2021. She also served as an associate for a private law practice before joining the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office. She holds a B.A. from Rutgers University and a juris doctorate from New York Law School.

“We are fortunate to have such an experienced attorney join our ranks,” Carroll said.

Born and raised in Northwest NJ, Jay has a degree in Communications and has had a life-long interest in local radio and various styles of music.
