Morris County Sheriff’s K9 section receives $5,000 donation
MORRIS COUNTY, NJ – The Morris County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Section received a very generous $5,000 donation this week in memory of Peter R. Cipollini.
Peter R. Cipollini was a firefighter in Maplewood before becoming a proud Detective of the Newark Police Department, and Essex County Sheriff’s Office, where he served a distinguished 32 year career. Upon retirement, he became the first volunteer with the New Jersey Cop2Cop program, a peer-peer referral and Critical Incident Stress Management service.
Cippolini was also a proud veteran of the United States Air Force where he served during the Korean conflict.
Cippolini’s sons, Peter and Ray, visited the K-9 Section to meet the handlers of the unit, as well as see a few of their four legged partners. As Peter and Ray reminisced of their father’s life, they emphasized to the K-9 Section that their father treasured his time in law enforcement and loved to help people.
They also expressed that their father had a love for German Shepherds. Ray and Peter thoughtfully explained that when they, and their sisters Karen and Diane, who could not be present today, discussed how to honor their father, they could not think of a better way than to make a donation to the Morris County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Section.
