Motorcyclist airlifted after striking tree in Warren County

ALLAMUCHY TOWNSHIP, NJ (Warren County) – A motorcyclist was airlifted to an area hospital Friday morning after striking a tree in Warren County, according to New Jersey State Police spokesperson Sergeant Philip Curry.

The crash occurred at 11:36 a.m. on County Route 612 (Johnsonburg Road) northbound at milepost 1.1 in Allamuchy Township, Curry said.

A preliminary police investigation revealed that a Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle, driven by a 33-year-old man from Rockaway, was traveling north on County Route 612 when it ran off the road to the right and struck a tree, Curry said.

The motorcyclist suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to an area hospital, Curry said.

County Route 612 was closed for approximately 3.5 hours and the crash remains under investigation, Curry said.
