Motorcyclist charged with hitting 3 pedestrians, leaving scene in Morris County

DOVER, NJ (Morris County) – A motorcyclist is accused of hitting three pedestrians and leaving the scene of the crash in Dover, police said.

On Friday, October 15, at around 8:42 p.m., police responded to the area of South Morris Street near Byram Avenue for a report of three pedestrians who were struck by a vehicle while crossing South Morris Street, police said.

Witnesses on scene reported that a motorcycle struck the pedestrians and fled the scene traveling north toward Blackwell Street, police said.

A subsequent investigation led to Ariel Rodriguez-Sanchez being arrested and charged with two counts of third-degree leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident resulting in serious bodily injury, two counts of fourth-degree assault by auto and one count of disorderly persons offense assault by auto, police said.

Rodriguez-Sanchez was then transported to the Morris County Correctional Facility.
