RIVERDALE BOROUGH, NJ (Morris County) – A motorcyclist was ejected and seriously injured Wednesday in a crash on Interstate 287 in Morris County, according to New Jersey State Police spokesperson Sergeant Philip Curry said.

The crash occurred at 4:58 p.m. on I-287 northbound at milepost 53.2 in Riverdale Borough, Curry said

A preliminary police investigation revealed that a KTM motorcycle, operated by a 44-year-old West Milford man, was traveling north on I-287 when the motorcycle entered the painted gore separating I-287 and the exit lane for Exit 52B, impacted and traveled over the concrete curb, Curry said.

The motorcyclist was ejected and then the KTM overturned. He suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to an area hospital, Curry said.
