Motorcyclist injured in crash on I-80 in Warren County

KNOWLTON TOWNSHIP, NJ (Warren County) – The driver of a motorcycle was injured following a crash Sunday afternoon in Warren County, according to the Knowlton Twp. Fire and Rescue Company.

The crash happened at around 2:41 p.m. on Interstate 80 eastbound at milepost 5.6, authorities said.

The motorcycle, which was in the fast lane, had left the roadway at a high rate of speed, traveled on the soft dirt shoulder for some distance before tipping over onto the driver, sliding quite a distance before coming to rest in the roadway, the fire company said.

The motorcyclist suffered moderate injuries and was transported to a local trauma center, authorities said.

Two of the four travel lanes were temporalily closed.
