Motorcyclist seriously injured following head-on crash in Sussex County

WANTAGE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Sussex County) – A New York man was seriously injured after his motorcycle collided with a vehicle head-on Sunday afternoon in Sussex County, according to New Jersey State Police Sergeant Alejandro Goez.

The crash happened at 1:18 p.m. on Route 23 northbound at milepost 48 in Wantage Township, Goez said.

A Kawasaki motorcycle, operated by Dakotah Lewis, 26, of Highland Mils, was traveling south and crossed over into the northbound lanes and struck a Ford Explorer head-on, Goez said.

Lewis sustained serious injuries. The driver and passenger of the Ford sustained minor injuries, Goez said.

The accident remains under investigation.
