Motorcyclist seriously injured in crash on Route 23 in Sussex County

MONTAGUE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Sussex County) – A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a crash on Route 23 in Sussex County Saturday night, according to New Jersey State Police spokesperson Detective Jeffrey Lebron.

The crash occurred at 6:01 p.m. on  Route 23 at milepost 49.1 in Montague Township, Lebron said.

A preliminary police investigation revealed that a Kawasaki motorcycle, operated by a 23-year-old Passaic man, was traveling southbound when it ran off the roadway to the right, overturned and impacted an embankment Lebron said.

As a result of the crash, the motorcyclist suffered serious injuries and was transported to an area hospital, Lebron said.

The crash remains under investigation, Lebron said.
