Mount Olive police remind residents to keep cars locked amid vehicle thefts

The Mount Olive Township Police Department wants to remind all residents to lock their cars and remove the keys/fobs from their cars.

Morris County has seen an increase in vehicles being stolen from driveways during the overnight hours. The majority of these vehicles were unlocked with the key fob in the vehicle.

Police offer these tips:

  • Take the keys; don’t leave them in the car.
  • Close windows and lock doors when you park.
  • Park in well-lit areas if possible.
  • Never leave valuables in your vehicle.
