Multiple cars catch fire in Sussex County parking lot

HARDYSTON TOWNSHIP, NJ (Sussex County) – Multiple vehicles caught fire in a Hardyston Township parking lot Sunday afternoon, according to a post on the Hardyston Township Volunteer Fire Department’s Facebook page.

On August 28, at around 4:42 p.m., the Hardyston Fire Department responded to 3 Wild Turkey Way for a vehicle fire in the employee parking lot, authorities said.

Police arrived on scene and reported multiple vehicles were on fire in a full parking lot. The fire chief then requested mutual aid from Hamburg and McAfee Fire Departments, the post said.

Firefighters arrived on scene and began to extinguish the fire that was quickly placed under control, authorities said.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Hardyston Police Department and the Hardyston Fire Official, the post said.
