National POW/MIA Recognition Day Ceremony

September 18 at 6pm at the permanent Prisoner of War/Missing in Action memorial

COMMUNITY SUBMISSION: 

The veterans of The American Legion, Carl D. Archer Post 528 of White Township cordially invite you to attend our upcoming National POW/MIA Recognition Day Ceremony on September 18 at 6pm at the permanent Prisoner of War/Missing in Action memorial; located at the Oscar Unangst Memorial Fields in White Twsp. on CR 519 (across from Flowerland).  This will be our fourth ceremony held since the dedication of the memorial.

A brief ceremony will be held honoring former POW’s:

  • Reba Whittle, US Army nurse corps during WWII
  • Floyd James Thompson, US Army pilot, Vietnam
  • Ruby Bradley, US Army nurse corps during WWII/Korea

As well as recognizing a local POW, the POW Pledge of Allegiance, POW/MIA flag close up, POW/MIA empty chair and the Missing Man table and Honors ceremony.

Participating in the ceremony will be local, county and state elected officials and members of Post 528.

We look forward to seeing you on the 18th of September as we honor this heroic man and women who sacrificed for their country and families.
