
Netcong woman charged with theft by deception in Mount Olive
MOUNT OLIVE TOWNSNHIP, NJ (Morris County) – A woman who is suspected of defrauding a Mount Olive Township Lowe’s was arrested Tuesday.
On Dec. 8, at 3:10 p.m., police responded to the Lowe’s Home Improvement store, located in the Flanders section of the township, to investigate a theft. Upon the officers arrival, a Loss Prevention employee had a woman in custody for the reported incident, police said.
During the police investigation, it was determined that Penny M. Bellomi, 43, arrived at Lowe’s a total of five times between July 30, 2020 and December 8, 2020 to commit theft. Loss Prevention told police they observed Bellomi locating discarded cash receipts in the parking lot, then entering the store to locate the item to later return for cash a refund, police said.
Bellomi was arrested and charged with five counts of theft by deception. She was released, pending a court appearance.
