New York fugitive wanted for robbery arrested in Hunterdon County

READINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ (Hunterdon County) – A New York man wanted for robbery was arrested Thursday in Readington Township.

On Jan. 7, at around 3:40 p.m., police stopped a person on Lamington Road for motor vehicle violations. The driver refused to provide his name and later produced several false names in an attempt to conceal his true identity, police said.

The officer advised him he was under arrest for obstruction and hindering the Investigation when Daris Clark, 33, of Brooklyn, NY began to resist arrest. Officers used mechanical force in order to gain control of Clark and then  successfully arrested him, police said.

Clark was treated and released from the hospital for minor injuries, police said.

Clark was charged with obstruction, hindering an investigation, possession of marijuana, resisting arrest, and was also detained after learning he was a fugitive from justice from New York on a recent robbery charge. He was lodged in the county jail awaiting extradition to New York, police said.
