Newton Medical Center named an advanced ICU care 2020 We See You Care award winner for exceptional acute care telemedicine collaboration

NEWTON, NJ (Sussex County) – Atlantic Health System’s Newton Medical Center Thursday announced that the hospital was recognized with a 2020 WE SEE YOU CARE award presented by Advanced ICU Care, the nation’s leading independent provider. The accolade, now in its fifth year, highlights exemplary collaboration between the hospital’s team and Advanced ICU Care’s care team to support the treatment of the hospital’s most critically ill patient population. Newton Medical Center was selected among nominees from nearly 100 Advanced ICU Care partner hospitals and their employees across the United States.

“Newton Medical Center is honored to be recognized by Advanced ICU Care for our collaborative partnership highlighted by two incredible patient stories that utilized the around-the-clock care and extra layer of support needed for our most critically ill patients,” said Paul Owens, M.D., Chief Medical Officer, Newton Medical Center. “To receive this year’s WE SEE YOU CARE award is an acknowledgement of our team’s exceptional use of acute care telemedicine as well as our commitment to enhancing overall patient care.”

Newton Medical Center was recently recognized in a virtual ceremony and was honored with a donation in its name to the Newton Medical Center Foundation. Established in 2016, the WE SEE YOU CARE Award honors Advanced ICU Care telemedicine partners for their efforts in caring for patients, collaborating across geography and leveraging technology-enabled care services to make a profound difference with respect to quality, safety and access within their hospitals for the surrounding community.

The 2020 WE SEE YOU CARE Awards honored 14 recipients for their individual, team and facility-wide dedication to delivering, in collaboration with Advanced ICU Care, the best of critical care to the patients they serve.

Born and raised in Northwest NJ, Jay has a degree in Communications and has had a life-long interest in local radio and various styles of music. Jay has held numerous jobs over the years such as stunt car driver, bartender, voice-over artist, traffic reporter (award winning), NY Yankee maintenance crewmember and peanut farm worker.
