NJ State Police arrest Sussex County man for DWI, seize $5720 worth of prescription pills

SADDLE BROOK, NJ (Bergen County) – New Jersey State Police arrested a Sussex County man for allegedly driving while intoxicated, and being in possession of more than 540 prescription pills.

Christopher Allison, 39, of Highland Lakes was charged with four counts of distribution of prescription legend drugs, four counts possession of prescription legend drugs, criminal under the influence, prescription legend drugs in an improper container, possession of drug paraphernalia, use of prescribed medication in an improper manner, and driving while intoxicated.

On Nov. 12, at 5:48 p.m., Trooper Andrew Koehler responded to the report of a vehicle off the road on the Interstate 80 exit 62 ramp in Saddle Brook, state police said.

When the trooper arrived, he discovered Allison drove his vehicle off the road and became disabled. While assisting Allison, the trooper determined that he was allegedly under the influence and arrested him for DWI, state police said.

A further investigation discovered more than 540 Xanax, Oxycodone, Adderall and Viagra pills inside of the vehicle, state police said.

Allison was lodged at Bergen County Jail pending a detention hearing.
