NJ State Police seeking public’s assistance with identifying theft suspects

HAMPTON TOWNSHIP, NJ (Sussex County) – The New Jersey State Police is seeking the public’s assistance with identifying a man and a woman who allegedly stole multiple purses in Sussex County.

On Tuesday, Dec. 22, at around 6:55 p.m., and Tuesday, January 12, at around 3:45 p.m., the suspects entered the Walmart in Hampton Township and stole purses from patrons in the store. The pair then proceeded to use the victims’ credit cards to make various purchases.

During the investigation, it was learned that the two suspects in the Hampton Township thefts are suspected of committing similar crimes throughout northern New Jersey.
