NJ state police teamed up with PA state police for joint toll bridge traffic enforcement detail

NEW JERSEY – New Jersey State Police and the Pennsylvania State Police teamed up on Tuesday and conducted a high-visibility, traffic-enforcement detail dubbed “Bridge the Gap.”

The operation consisted of extra patrols, in addition to normal patrols, on Interstate 80 through the Delaware Water Gap. Troopers from the Troop ”B” Tactical Patrol Unit, Hope Station, and the Commercial Carrier/Safety Inspection Unit joined PA troopers to target driving behaviors such as aggressive driving, distracted driving, speeding, seatbelt usage, and commercial vehicle violations.

As a result of the operation, troopers issued more than 180 summonses for various aggressive driving and commercial vehicle violations.

This joint operation is part of our ongoing effort to make I-80 and the Delaware Water Gap area of New Jersey and Pennsylvania safer for all travelers.
