NJ state trooper, motorcyclist injured after crash in Sussex County

FRANKFORD TOWNSHIP, NJ (Sussex County) – A New Jersey state trooper and a motorcyclist were injured after being involved in a crash Monday afternoon in Sussex County, according New Jersey State Police spokesperson Trooper Charles Marchan.

The crash happened at around 4:42 p.m. on County Route 565 at milepost 1.41 in Frankford Township, Marchan said.

A preliminary police investigation revealed that a marked State Police Ford SUV was traveling south on County Route 565 and a Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling on Linn Smith Road, Marchan said.

According to Marchan, at the intersection of County Route 565 and Linn Smith Road, the State Police vehicle and the Harley Davidson collided.

The motorcyclist suffered moderate injuries and the trooper suffered minor injuries, Marchan said.

The names of the individuals involved in the crash were not released.

The crash remains under investigation, Marchan said.
