No injuries after 2-alarm fire at Skylands Stadium in Sussex County

FRANKFORD TOWNSHIP, NJ (Sussex County) – No injuries were reported after a two-alarm fire at Skylands Stadium in Frankford Township Friday night.

On Nov. 17, at 9:59 p.m., fire crews responded to Skyland’s Stadium, located on Champion Drive, for a fire and smoke Investigation. The caller advised a large amount of smoke from an unknown location in the stadium, according to the Frankford Township Fire Department.

Upon arrival, firefighters observed dark smoke coming from the clubhouse section of the stadium and requested a second-alarm structure fire, authorities said.

Firefighters extinguished the fire and determined the cause was an electrical fire, according to New Jersey State Police spokesperson Detective Jeffrey Lebron.

Fire crews conducted overhaul and ventilated the structure with assistance of mutual aid fire departments. Units cleared shortly before 1:00 a.m., officials said.
