No injuries reported in Hunterdon County house fire

RARITAN TOWNSHIP, NJ (Hunterdon County) – No one was injured in a Sunday morning house fire in Raritan Township, according to Raritan Township Police Lieutenant Scott Nelson.

On May 21, at around 6:20 a.m., the Hunterdon County Communications received a 911 call reporting a fire coming from an attached residential garage at a residence on Whitetail Way, Nelson said.

Upon the arrival of first responders, there was an active fire inside the three-car garage of the single family, two-story residence. The fire quickly spread throughout the residence, Nelson said.

Responding officers were able to ensure that all residents were evacuated and there were no injuries reported, Nelson said.

The fire department was able to get the fire under control. However, due to the extent of the fire and smoke damage, the residence is currently uninhabitable, Nelson said.

The cause of the fire is currently being investigated by the Raritan Township Police Department, the Raritan Township Fire Marshal, and the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office.
