It is now up to you to vote now through Aug. 15 online. Read the stories of the four finalists below and click the link at the bottom to vote.

The four finalists are listed below:

Hard Working Mom, Very Caring, Phillipsburg:

  • “1st nomination comment: Beverly is a hard working mom and grandmother. She works with people that are intellectually challenged. Beverly is in pain everyday. Beverly will not ask for anything but will give the shirt off back to help anyone. If you need help with anything she will do her best to help you. 2nd nomination comment: My mom has raised 2 girls all alone. She continues doing her best by helping others through her job at The ARC, she has helped others with rooming at her home, she donates her time to help people in town. If she doesn’t have the means to help, she does it anyway. 3rd nomination comment: Beverly is a single mother and grandmother. She has always taken care of friends and family when in need even though she’s faced her own hardships. She is always doing her hardest to keep up. She’s always known on the block for having a beautifully decorated yard and bay window, however, Over the past 6-7 years, she’s struggled the most financially and physically with her health problems. All set aside, she still gets up everyday to go to work at the arc and make the best of things for the consumers. She is loving and compassionate and most definitely deserves this nomination! 5 nominations were received for Beverly.”

Single Mom – SURVIVOR, Hillsborough:

  • “Lost son 10 years ago, 2 children still living. Bad divorce. Worked 2-3 jobs forever. House will need roof in two years and I have no idea where I’m coming up with the cash for this. Going to have to start working another job. Would love a light at the end of the tunnel. There’s so much more to the story, but not one that 150 words or less could even begin to explain. All I know is my kids deserve some good luck and to see how wonderful this world truly can be.”

A Place To Call Home & Be At Peace, Budd Lake:

  • “It’s been a difficult 2 years: I’m a nurse who became infected with Covid19 while working on a Covid unit. I had complications- out of work due to prolonged recovery and financially struggling. The infection occurred after being back to work 8 weeks after my mom’s death, (which also was unpaid time off from work). So it has been a double whammy! I feel blessed to have a home. Two years ago I left an abusive marriage. After working really, really hard,-and many sacrifices,- last year, I was able to scraped together enough money to purchase a home. It is small and in need of some repairs,- but it is mine. I feel really good about that. The home inspector advised- replace 30yr old roof and a “ridge vent”immediately after purchase. It’s been over a year, and for financial reasons I have not been able to. Would love any help you can give.”

Supports Everyone But Herself, Long Valley:

  • “1st nomination comment: Divorced, single mother of three and caretaker of her elderly mother allowed strangers to move into her house who had no place to move. When I first met her, as the mother of my best friend, I suffered through alcoholism and depression, living paycheck to paycheck with no place to live after my own mother moved to her home country and let our family home go into foreclosure. She helped pay for my food, pushed me to go into rehab, and gave me more advice and help than my own family ever did, all the while, taking care of her own family and living off her own scraps. Jane is a strong woman who has always put others before herself and now I want her to get the help she deserves. Give her a roof that’ll make her cry tears of joy because she’s my “mom” and deserves happiness. 2nd nomination comment: Jane has been a single Mom to her three kids since they were very small and has gotten next to no support from their dad. She has done an amazing job, they are incredible, lovely kids and now she is caring for our 91 year old Mom. She and her sons do their best to maintain the property. Jane is such a generous person and would do anything for her loved ones and it’s a shame that the home she bought as her dream home has fallen into such disrepair after all the work she put into making it livable for her family. 3rd nomination comment: Jane was nominated by 5 people.”
