North Road railroad crossing in Mount Olive to close for upgrades Oct. 5

Detours Anticipated for a Week to Complete Railroad Crossing Upgrade

MOUNT OLIVE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – Work will begin Monday, Oct. 5, to improve a railroad crossing at North Road in Mount Olive, requiring the road to be closed for a week.

The road closure will begin 7:00 a.m., Monday, as work begins to remove the existing railroad crossing and replace it with a new concrete crossing that will include new asphalt approaches.

The $473,500 project is being funded through the New Jersey Department of Transportation’s Highway-Railroad Grade Crossing Program.

Traffic will be detoured via Park Place and Main Street.
