Passenger arrested on drug charges following traffic stop in Morris County

DENVILLE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – A passenger in a vehicle that was stopped by a Denville Township Police officer was arrested on drug charges following a traffic stop Monday.

On August 1, a Denville Township Police officer stopped a vehicle on Route 53 after observing a cracked windshield. Once stopped, officers observed signs of CDS use inside of the vehicle, police said.

After a roadside investigation, the passenger, who was identified as Janelle Godfrey, 35, of Rockaway Township, was arrested, police said.

Godfrey was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, under the influence without a prescription, and cracked windshield, police said.

Godfrey was released pending a court appearance, police said.
