A Paterson man has been charged in connection with 32 burglaries through Morris, Passaic and Essex counties, according to Morris County Prosecutor Fredric M. Knapp.
Moises Echevarria, 40, was charged on Wednesday with 32 counts of third-degree burglary, two counts of third-degree theft, two counts of fourth-degree theft, two counts of fourth-degree joyriding, and two counts of disorderly persons offense of theft.
The arrest stems from an investigation into reported complaints involving multiple motor vehicle burglaries and thefts. The investigation culminated on June 19, which led to the arrest of Echevarria, Knapp said.
Echevarria was lodged in the Essex County Correctional Facility pending a first appearance and a pre-trial detention hearing.
The investigation was conducted by the Butler Police Department, with assistance from the Morris County Sheriff’s Office, the Bloomfield Police Department, Wayne Police Department, Woodland Park Police Department, Cedar Grove Police Department, and Clifton Police Department.
“Residents are reminded to please lock their vehicles, sheds, garages, and homes to prevent easy access to their belongings,’ Knapp said.
